Bighorn Magic: Summer 2005

The streets of Billings will be deep in sheep as the one-of-a-kind statues grace the front of sponsoring businesses. Jurors selected 38 artists from sketches entered and the artists spent the winter months embellishing their sheep.

Artists selected include Kevin Red Star, Julie Pederson Atkins,
Carol Welch, Mary Alice Spencer and Dione Roberts.

The public can find Treasure Maps available at each business where the
Bighorn sheep are on display or one can go to the website www.billingsdepot.org to print a copy.

Stained glass artist Dione Roberts of D&J's Glassworks in Billings, Montana painted roses in a Tiffany Stained Glass style on her sheep called "Tiffany's RAMblin Rose" and added Dragonflies with jeweled eyes.
The horns were done in a mosaic technique using
Spectrum Silvercoat Glass and Van Gogh glass.

The urban sheep drive will be on public display through the summer, concluding with the
RAMbunctious Dinner and Auction on September 17 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center.

All proceeds from the project will go towards completing the restoration of the
The Depot Complex including the final building on the east side.
